M/V Humboldt Explorer

The "M/V Humboldt Explorer", which was built in August 2010, is one of the newer vessels operating around the Galapagos Islands. Vessels sailing in the Pacific have to be able to withstand the challenge of the open oceans and blue o two will only provide you with the safest and best there is.

The vessel is steadier than most due to the fact that it has been designed to be lower - with only 2 decks and a sun deck along with a bow bulb which aids stability and speed. The boat has an official license to operate and organise diving activities in the Galapagos, issued by the Ecuadorian government and the National Institute of the Galapagos, ensuring you that they have passed all the safety tests as well as complying with the strict environmental rules of the park. With all the latest safety devices - GPS, VHF radios, satellite phones, 2 life rafts, emergency oxygen and AED - you will know you are travelling in total protection and professionalism.

The vessel only takes 16 passengers, avoiding large crowds of divers jumping all at the same time and providing you with all the necessary space onboard. The boat features 8 air-conditioned staterooms located on the main deck (2 cabins) and lower deck (6 cabins). Each cabin has its own private en-suite bathroom, flat screen television and ample of storage. Each of them will also offer you an ocean view, as the staterooms only have good sized, strong windows and no portholes, allowing you to soak in the Galapagos scenery. Two of the lower cabins have twin beds, while the rest all have convertible beds offering either twin beds or one queen.

The large dive deck includes a bathroom, a large camera table with charging station, individual storage areas, rinse tanks for the photo and video equipment and another rinse tank for your diving kit. The two large tenders ("pangas") can easily be boarded from the spacious dive platform. Aside from the diving deck and diving platform, the main deck also features 2 cabins and a large dining area, serving delicious and varied meals.

The sun deck offers a large area for relaxing with a comfortable lounge all kitted up with a bar & entertainment system, a partially covered sun deck to laze in the sun and a roomy Jacuzzi.
